April 17th Irregular Social
If you are asking yourself what you are doing next Friday, with no chocolate rabbits to wrap or eggs to die, your in luck! Thanks to our strange weather this year there is no grass to run home to mow so you can join your Designer friends from the Seattle area at the Seattle Art Museum!
Friday April 17th the IDSA will be gathering at the SAM from 6:30-7:00, for the My Favorite Things: Highly Opinionated Public Tours which “brings some of the most opinionated and fascinating artists, cultural producers and community figures into the galleries to discuss their favorite works of art.” This tour is free with admission (“pay-what-you-can” basis, referred to as “suggested fees”, $9 for students with ID, $15 for adults, free for SAM members).
Following this event we will be moving a few blocks north of the SAM to The Triple Door to socialize and enjoy some local food, drinks and a little funk music (no cover).
The SAM is also hosting another discussion that evening called Pivotal Perspectives: Conversations on Art and Culture from 7-8 pm which features “William Ruckelshaus, the first head of the Environmental Protection Agency and former Deputy Attorney General of the United States, and David Brewster, local author and the founder of the online newspaper Crosscut. The two converse about American history paintings and the history of presidents.”This discussion is an additional $6 for students, $8 for adults, and $4 for SAM members (these are not suggested fees).
